Angry Enough
Cave in for What?!
I’m angry that Democrats are caving to Republicans just as momentum against them is finally turning in our favor. It’s a betrayal of the sacrifice the unpaid and furloughed workers have endured. It’s a stab in the back to SNAP recipients whose access to food has been leveraged as a political weapon. And it’s a slap in the face to the millions who marched, and to the voters who turned out and delivered overwhelming victories in off-year elections on November 4th.
Yet I still refuse to believe that evil can win over good, and I’m angry enough to reach out to these representatives
.
This is what I did.
I called and wrote to my Senator.
I wrote to my House Representative
I told them that compromise shouldn’t mean surrender, not when healthcare, stability, and the dignity of working people are on the line. I told them that Californians are paying attention, and we expect them to hold the line.
Call. Write. We still have our voices — at least for now.
Websites, in case you need them:
Find your Senators → senate.gov/senators
Find your Representative → house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative
Tell them what you expect. Tell them what you won’t accept.
We still have to believe in John Lewis’s call for good trouble.

Yes! We have a voice in this representative democracy! The national media has made us forget that when everything seems far away and we feel powerless. Love the idea of acting locally! Let's clean out the reps who aren't down for a fight!
